This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My English Language Learners love learning in English and Spanish. I use a variety of learning strategies, such as group work, hand on activities and technology to ensure that each student's needs are met. Their favorite time of the day is story time! They are an amazing group and I can’t wait to see them in person this year.

My Project

Listening to audio books is a wonderful way to expose my English Learners to complex language, expressive reading, and fantastic stories. It will also provide them with the valuable and enjoyable experience of using their own imaginations to visualize the people and places they’re hearing about. My students will develop reading skills that will help them picture and understand words when they read books independently.

I am sure my students will love this project as they come from an oral culture where listening to stories is part of their culture.
