Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a former ELL student myself, I know how important representation in the classroom can be. I teach a very diverse group of kindergartens during the day, including ELL and ESE students and a fourth-grade group of ELL students from many different backgrounds after school. My children all love to see their languages and characters that look like them in the books that we read. They love to help me pronounce words and tell me what things mean. I would love to make my library more diverse and have representation for each of the children that I teach!
