This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Learning to read in kindergarten is one of the most exciting experiences children have! As we work through the year developing beginning sounds, and recognizing that pictures have word. This set of rebus readers will encourage even the youngest reader to pick up a book and read on their own.

As a teacher in Southwest Detroit, I recognize that students do not have books of their own at home that are at their reading level.

Providing students with a book a week throughout the school year will help build their library and keep that exciting skill of reading throughout the year alive. This wonderful set of books will allow each child to have 24 different realistic topic titles with colorful illustrations that are of their interest, and motivation to touch and read words on their very own.
