This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The school library is not just a place to check out books--it's a refuge of calm for many kids. Even kids who say they "don't like to read" are excited to enter into the library space, particularly when it is quiet, welcoming, and restful.

Please help me create a peaceful and relaxed space for kids to have a moment to rest their brains and bodies and escape into books and stories, beyond the structured classroom and standardized test requirements.

Flexible seating and a cozy corner will help students find their space to learn and grow. Our current space only allows for students to read at tables or finding a space on the hard carpet. A softer, unique area to stretch out, read, and imagine, is what every budding reader deserves! Thank you for helping my students!
