Help me give my students what is needed to continue weekly letters home. This provides consistency, as well as help them understand we may not be together every day, but we are still here, and we really care.
Currently, due to Covid 19, our students are being educated at home. We (My co-teacher Amy and I) as first grade teachers truly believe in positive feedback, during the "normal" school year we did this by positive post cards, emails, and phone calls. However; during this home instructional time we have started another way to let our students care, and to truly know we are there with them and that is by sending them letters, postcards, little things in the mail. We have tried to do this weekly.
It is so important to us that our students know we care, that we are still here, we are their teachers, and they are always in our thoughts.
We truly love doing this for our students, but with 24 students, needing 24-48 stamps (depending on the postage for what is being sent) we are running low on all materials, especially cardstock, notecards, and envelopes. Our project today is to provide us with enough supplies to continue our weekly notes until the end of the school year.
My Project
If my project is funded I will continue to send weekly notes home. The stamps are expensive, especially when I use 1-2 (depending on the weight of what is being sent) for 24 students. This project will help me to purchase everything (with the exception of the postage stamps), including digital images from Teachers Pay Teachers to continue to send my students weekly letters to show them we care, and truly miss them more than they know. I feel doing this boosts not only their spirits but mine as well. This project will offset the cost of the other materials needed, when sending letters to my students.
