Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The materials in this project start with an amazing story about a young girl who is stripped of her father and her wealth, and relocates to the United States. She learns to better herself by learning how to clean and work hard so she can provide for her sick mother.

This story and the supplies combined are used to teach students some of the most important lessons in my classroom, dedication to working hard, staying clean and organized, and bettering yourself as an individual.

The pocket charts is to be used to highlight key vocabulary terms in the classroom. The whiteboard supply organizer and erases will allow the students and myself to demonstrate examples on the whiteboard and clean them up with ease. The paper tray and the sheet protectors will be used to help keep their work on display and well organized. The window cover keeps them safe in an emergency.

Our school is a Title 1, which means many of our families are of a low income. Giving students access to a story and supplies they might not have access to is key in my classroom. Many of our students are learning English as a second language and would love to have a story they can connect with and learn from and supplies to keep them organized.
