A Leg Up With Phonics

Help me give my students some hands on activities and tools to add to our reading intervention room. We have a brand new position and room that needs to be filled with phonics activities and some furniture pieces.

My Project

I love working with my students who are struggling readers. I am working hard to fill my room with furniture, resources, and hands on activities that will help them feel comfortable while learning to read. Research suggests that when students feel comfortable, they begin to have fun. Hands on fun is a very important ingredient in the teaching of reading.

Because I will be teaching small groups of students from grades K-4, it is important to have a table with adjustable legs so I can accommodate the different heights of each group of learners.

As we get comfortable we will explore phonics, writing and sentence structure. Hands on materials and resources will be a great addition.
