Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Growing up did you have centers or games to practice educational skills? My students come from low income families and may not have the resources to purchase educational activities for their children. Our students need to have access to these materials to reinforce concepts taught in the classroom.
I teach Kindergarten at a title 1 school.
My students are very energetic and are always ready to learn. They love engaging in group activities. They bring so much to our classroom, they share and learn from each other. They look forward to workshop time because they can work independently as well as with their peers.
My Project
Kindergarten is the beginning of a child's education where students get the foundation for the rest of their educational career. Students not only learn the alphabet but they become aware that each letter makes a sound and that they can use the sounds to read and write words. When my students read and write a word for the first time, they feel so proud of themselves. They want to read everything that they see in sight. The resources that I am requesting gives the students many activities to reinforce language arts skills such as letter sound association. I am also requesting similar math activities to review skills such as counting and adding. These activities will give students additional learning experiences during workshop time. The activities that I am requesting come with audio instructions that the students need to follow.
In order for the students to use the activities with their classmates we need a functioning cd player, junction box, and headphones.
Your donation will allow us to purchase resources that will further enrich our students' education.
Our students will feel a sense of accomplishment when they complete a task and master the skills that they need to learn in Kindergarten.
