Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Eager, excited and determined faces are what I see every morning as I greet my students at the door. This caring bunch loves to explore new things and get creative on their daily base assignments. Although the resources provided in our campus are scarce I try to spark up my student’s creativity by creating a hands-on learning environment.
I work at a large campus, with a high military and low-income population near the heart of the border.
Many of our students are small heroes that work through the struggles of being apart from their loved ones because their family members serve in the military risking their lives to serve our country.
Our school serves students in grades Pre-K- 5th grade and our goal is to not only make our students feel safe and welcomed in a learning environment but to also help them excel in everything they put their hearts and minds into.
My Project
Students will be using the HP Chromebook on a daily basis for various subjects and activities. Students will be conducting research and create presentations to expose them to real-world applications. Students will also be using the Chromebook to listen to stories, write their own stories and research stories on their own. Students will also research simple machines and create their own by looking up examples and how to tutorials. I can also download applications for math, to have my students practice different math skills.
Providing my students with this investment will expose my students to explore different ways of learning using technology resources that many of my students don’t have access to.
My students deserve to have many opportunities and resources to learn to become successful learners.
