A Laptop for Robotics!

My Students

Our school is considered a math and science school. Our students have strong academic potential.

Our school celebrates diversity, from our wide array of backgrounds to the broad scope of goals and interests we share.

Our school is very diverse with a 63% minority and 33% of our students receive free or reduced-rate lunch.

Science Olympiad is a club where students have the opportunity to collaborate and advance their scientific knowledge. Our school has been participating in tournaments for years, claiming multiple regional and state titles.

My Project

My robotics team qualified for the World competition in early March and of course the trip to Houston was canceled. It was a huge disappointment for my team because they had never built such a great robot!

Still, we are preparing for next season, hoping that the World competition will be hosted in the fall.

A good laptop is paramount and will be instrumental and leading the team to success. Indeed, a computer can perform many duties such as program Vex and FRC robots, designing systems (CAD), designing computer programs to be downloaded into the robot, and adjust it during a competition if needed.

Of course, students can use the laptop directly with the robot, but they can also use it for other functions such as those performed by Microsoft tools, photo programs and also, they can edit videos that they can use to send to their sponsors.

My robotics team does not actually own a laptop computer. One of the mentors brings his, and I bring mine. It would be so much easier to have a laptop dedicated to robotics!
