Our school is an arts school. The students are gifted in visual and performing arts. They are motivated and enthusiastic about learning, and they make connections between what we study and their own areas of interest. They enjoy being active and creative.
Since they are visual and performing arts students, they bring many special talents to class.
As an English teacher, I have many opportunities to draw on their talents. My students love to express themselves through art, music, drama, and writing. They come from all over the area.
My Project
My students and I need a laptop so that I can present lessons, use interactive technology, and show student work.
This project will help me make my lessons more engaging by using a variety of media.
Right now we don't have a laptop in my classroom, and so we have to use whatever is available. The computers available are often slow or can't connect properly to the internet. We need a laptop that connects effortlessly and gives my students opportunities to learn better. This will also help me get essays and projects handed back to them more quickly.
