My students need "kleenslate" whiteboards to replace broken ones and be hands-on with their learning. Stylus, markers, construction paper, and other craft supplies will be the tools they need to bring their inquiry projects to life!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My third-grade classroom is a place where students are encouraged to seek out a challenge and to be working members of a classroom community.
These students are caring, creative, and downright fun.
Since we are in a high-poverty school district, all students are constantly presented with challenges at home that make it difficult for them to feel successful. 65% of my kiddos read at or below a 2nd-grade reading level and we are closing in on the end of the year.
I understand my students face an uphill battle to close this achievement gap, however, I strive to make our classroom a warm and comfortable place for them to push their thinking. More importantly, I want to give them a place where they can feel safe and be successful.
My Project
These "Kleenslate Concepts" whiteboards will be a tremendous improvement to our classroom. They not only will replace broken white boards handed down from previous teachers, but will interchangeable. Students will be able to change the organizers on their white boards to save paper and engage hands-on with the skills they are learning.
My students are discovering what makes them a genius and what they are passionate about.
For this "genius project" we will need construction paper, glue, and other craft materials so they can make those discoveries come to life.
Also, most of our activities are done on an interactive notebook on the computer and using these new stylus will be much easier for these 3rd graders to use.
