My students deserve the best STEAM education imaginable! Every year I teach my students color theory through color mixing and other painting techniques. Unfortunately, this year our district needed to make a few budget cuts, therefore we are unable to buy painting supplies.
Using the donated materials, students will design a kaleidoscope tile painting that will allow them to learn color theory in a hands-on setting.
Students will learn how to mix secondary and complex colors, while gaining knowledge in mixing tints, shades, values, neutrals, analogous, and monochromatic color schemes. Students will then move on to painting original works of art with the knowledge they gain from the kaleidoscope tiles.
My students attend high school in East New York, Brooklyn, at a Title 1 public school. My students are artistic, talented, and incredibly creative. They deserve the best education that money can buy! By donating to our project, you will be giving my students the joy of making art, finding their voice, and allowing them the joy of creative problem solving while integrating visual art with science.
