This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are an energetic bunch who love to learn. Most of my students come from a low socioeconomic background and many from homes where English is a second language. The school where I teach is a Title I school. While my students may face a lot of challenges, they love to succeed. They enjoy seeing themselves accomplish different tasks such as reading a text that is difficult or finishing a writing project. They love to explore and learn new things.

While they may face many challenges outside of school, inside of school they show excitement and a passion for learning.

As a teacher, I want to be able to provide the tools for my students to be successful and enjoy learning.

My Project

Everyday as a class we gather on the carpet for whole group learning. The Inspiration Station will provide a space for engaging interactive learning. I will be able to display our read alouds so all students can see. It will also provide an area where I can write out problems for math, work on shared writing experiences and display questions for reading. This station also has a storage area where I can keep supplies for myself and ones that are easily accessible to the students.

This easel station has all the necessary components to make whole group learning an inviting and engaging space.

The easel will allow students an opportunity to engage in multiple learning opportunities. They will be able to show their work when solving math problems. They will also be able to participate in a shared writing experience and record answers to questions when reading. It is also large enough that when I display problems, questions or directions all students can see.
