Imagine walking into a community where everyone knows your name and everyone is there to help you out and help you to reach your fullest potential. Now imagine that community is with a group of 3, 4, and 5 year olds, and they all collaborate and support each other. That is the way that our classroom is run. We are a mixed classroom, meaning that we have both special education students and general education students within our room. Walking into our classroom you will never know which children are which because they all work together and support each other and are kind to each other.
We are a group of "bucket fillers" and we help and care for each other and we celebrate each other's successes.
Our families are very active and supportive of their child's education and they are a part of our classroom community!
My Project
I first want to thank you for taking the time to consider helping my students with this project. I teach preschool children and they are learning so much when they are at school! Many of them are going through growth spurts or often they forget their snack for the day or their parents forget or even they just are hungry,
A hungry brain is not a brain that is ready to learn and grow, I want to assure that I have snacks available every day at snack time so that no child ever goes hungry!
Often times I will go to the vending machine and get them something out of it to assure that they are not hungry. This makes it hard because then they are pointed out that they do not have a snack and then all of the other children wonder why they need that "special" snack. I want to provide my children with these snacks so that they do not have to ever worry about having a snack when they come to school.
I picked snacks that all of my children enjoy such as goldfish and crackers and pretzels. I also assured that I put drinks on my list because that is another thing that they are often without.
