This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My Kindergarten class LOVES read alouds. They love hearing the story and they especially like looking at the pictures.
We are unique in our ways and my students love when they see themselves in our stories.
Their eyes light up when they realize that a character in the story is just like them. Providing them with books that reflect who they are and celebrate their differences only helps cement their love for reading. It's like receiving a hug from a book.
Opening the doors to books that give them the confidence to be who they are will mean the world to them and myself!
