This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom needs the advantage of 21st century technology and this can be achieved through the use of a laptop coinciding with our current projector. This laptop will provide portability for my students to expand their scope of learning in all subject areas.
My students attend a low socio-economic school in Texas where most of the students qualify for free or reduced lunch.
Some students have computers in the home, but many do not. That's why it's so important for our schools to provide up-to-date technology. Our school needs to help students become technologically savvy and this can be accomplished by placing the right equipment into a child's hands. Laptops are for today's students and today's classrooms. My classroom needs this resource and will greatly benefit from this technology.
My Project
I plan to use this laptop to expand our knowledge of the United States, and for research projects. In addition, my class will use the laptop for online explorations and to improve students' academic skills with online learning. I also intend to use the laptop to captivate the reluctant student in order to engage him or her in interactive websites.
This project is vital because my students need access to current information.
My students also need to learn about the United States, and the world beyond. By placing this vital tool within their hands, they will be able to expand their scope of learning.
