Help me give my students Jump Bands to practice collaboration, rhythm, and physical fitness as we celebrate Music in Our Schools Month and meet VAPA standards.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My fifth grade students are today's scholars and tomorrow's leaders who are curious, enthusiastic, creative, and eager to immerse themselves in any kind of challenge! In addition to academics, our students practice making positive human connections with daily choices that support R.I.S.E.—Respect, Integrity, Safety, and Excellence, and they are recognized monthly for demonstrating these character traits.
Our school does not have a music teacher, and general education teachers provide instruction to meet Visual and Performing Arts standards.
While consulting with several music experts, I discovered jump bands, an exciting way for students to practice collaboration and rhythm, while moving their bodies to music!
“Jump Bands are colorful, one inch wide elastic bands that take the Philippine folk dance, Tinikling, to the next level. Jump Bands add more fun and a higher activity level, giving it a uniquely creative, American aerobic boost. This aerobic folk dance activity helps develop balance, agility, and coordination.” The Jump Band kit comes with everything we need to get started, including jump bands, a DVD, activity cards, and an audio CD. I am also requesting some extra bands, so we can practice these activities as a whole class.
Thank you very much for making time to read our proposal, and for your kindness in bringing this dream to life. I am super excited to share this activity with my students, and most appreciative!
