Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom consists of amazing, energetic and hardworking students. I have a multicultural class with students whom English is a second language. Their home languages are Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Farsi and Tagalog.
Their parents belong to a low-income class with limited English skills themselves, but are very supportive of their children in hopes that they receive a better education than what they received.
Our school is a math, science and technology magnet. Our student population is made up of students from all over the city of Los Angeles which means we have a lot of students who take the bus to school. Parents and students want to attend our school because of the awesome school culture and community support.
My Project
My students were lucky enough to receive one to one tablets to use in class everyday. We have 24 tablets and daily charging is necessary.
With this cart my students can connect their tablets to their charging ports everyday before class is over.
This will make managing charging so much easier. In addition to charging the tablets, this cart has a keypad to lock up the cart every night. These tablets support their learning in so many ways. I love using them to challenge their creativity and they love using them.
