A Home for Everything

My students need an organized and structured way to handle and store their materials.

My Students

In Kindergarten Spanish immersion, students come in with lots of energy and excitement over learning a new language! My students work hard every day in the process of becoming bilingual and bicultural, and Kindergarten starts with 90% of instruction in Spanish.

Students know how difficult it is to learn a new language because they experience it first hand!

They work hard to focus and engage in school in a language they do not yet know. They feel proud and accomplished of the hard work they do and love to show off their Spanish at home!

Our classroom environment is warm and one where students can enjoy learning and be proud of their accomplishments; after all, the process of becoming bilingual and bicultural is a huge feat!

We have lots of movement breaks, dances, and songs, in which students learn to have fun while they learn and focus hard learning through a new language!

My Project

In Kindergarten, students share tables and do not have individual desks. This means that the supplies they use every day are stored away from their tables, and crowd their table when being used. This means that my student's pencil boxes, folders, and notebooks often fall and our time is spent finding homes for our supplies and transitioning between these places.

These solutions are not ideal.

Students aren't as comfortable or as organized as they could be, and can regularly be found cleaning up crayons from a spilled pencil box or folder.

With these seat sacks, students could have the organization, structure, and space for their supplies that would help them feel organized and ready to learn. This would also increase the amount of time we are able to work, learn and create at our tables!
