My Students
I teach a general education, 1st grade, classroom. I teach a wide range of learners. Whether they are a visual, auditory, reading/writing, or kinesthetic learner, my aim is to meet all of their needs!
My students are little scientists interested in learning about the world around them and they enjoy the newness of discovery.
I want my classroom to be a safe and loving learning environment. Teaching 1st grade, my classroom is often the first experience students have of a full day of learning. I want my students to have a positive learning experience that gets them excited about being lifelong learners. Learning can be fun!
My Project
With a science curriculum rich with hands-on learning, my students will be able to analyze, label, discuss, describe, and develop a better understanding of the world around them. I am able to provide strong literacy and math curriculums to my students but don't have the type of hands-on and visual science curriculum that I'd like to provide for my students.
Science is one of the most important subjects children need to study, because it gives them the critical thinking skills they need in every subject.
The common core standards for 1st grade focus on earth and space science, physical science, and life science. Its so important that my students learn about the world around them!
I would like to amp up my science game as a teacher! With more hands-on and visual science lessons with the magnetic life cycle sets, ant farm and other manipulatives, I feel like I will be able to provide an opportunity for my students to become lovers of science.
