My Students

My students are amazing and are ready to start a successful school year. My talented students are doing their best to overcome both their academic and/or social-emotional challenges. The students at my high school come from diverse backgrounds, many represent low socioeconomic statuses, and reside in an urban area. When they are at the point where they doubt that they can not overcome a challenge or find a solution to a problem, it is then that I remind them that they are not alone and we are here for them.

My Project

In these uncertain times many of our families need a helping hand when it comes to many of the essential items that our students require (deodorant, body wash, and laundry detergent). Being clean is an important part of confidence for teenagers. Our school makes efforts to listen to parents, support them, and ensure that they have the tools to be active partners in their children’s school experience.

If their bodies and breath are clean smelling and their clothes are clean, it can help them feel comfortable, increase their self-confidence, positively impact their personal relationships, and help them to be ready to learn.

It is important to me that my students earn higher grades and test scores, graduate from high school and attend post-secondary education, develop self-confidence and motivation, and have better social skills. Partnerships between parents and schools are essential for helping students achieve at their maximum potential.
