Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are all very motivated and ready to take on any challenge! They stay after school on days we don't have practice and are fully committed on the days that we do. Each girl is special in their own way and truly represent what it means to be a team player. They all care for each other and show respect towards everyone.
Each girl has something special to offer, whether it is helping another one with technique or making sure their teammate feels included.
They are all so passionate about playing sports and put their all into every practice.
My Project
The supplies and equipment I am requesting will not only inspire my students to work hard toward all of their goals but will show them that they are all special. I hope to show them that hard work pays off and I know the new equipment would make them so excited for the season.
My group of students are undeniably motivated and committed to their passion!
My volleyball girls eat, sleep and breath volleyball. I find them after school practicing on days we don't have practice and staying late after practice is over. Their desire to work hard and improve their skills has inspired me to get the new equipment. Practicing with balls that are flat or falling apart would deter some students from wanting to work hard, but these girls are different. They have goals of making winning the championships this year and I think adding some sparkle to their uniforms (i.e. hair ribbons, knee pads) and giving them new balls would inspire them even more. Unfortunately, we have to share our practice time with the boys' team as well and we only have one net. Therefore, we take turns and try to be creative with the space we have. Providing the girls with different equipment like the agility ladder will allow them to work on their footwork, as well as the cones which would help them with spatial techniques. As the coach, I am also responsible for providing water to the girls during their games which can become costly.
Please help our girls' team make it to championships this year! Thank you!
