Help me give my students cleaning and learning supplies to create a productive space. Having these basic hygiene products will help my students feel more confident while focus in their small group and independent work!
We define resilience in our classroom as always trying our best especially since we are lacking.
Our school is centrally located in a low-income neighborhood of Brownsville, where educational resources are not always available to our students. However, my students don't let their environment or labels define their education or potential.
Many of them have experienced trauma in their lives and have difficulty coming to school. Our classes serve students with a range of disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and specific learning disabilities.
In our students’ eyes, we are ‘Superheroes’. ‘Everyday Heroes’ who miraculously are expected to transform and reshape cognitive minds in the classroom. It is sometimes possible to reach daily goals when we have setbacks to provide their daily classroom materials e.g storybooks, pencils, paper, cleaning supplies, etc.
My Project
2-309 classroom are" hands-on" learners! In our classroom our students use expo markers during small group and whole group instruction daily. Since we are a special education ICT classroom we have various types of learns including: kinesthetic, and visual learners.
They rely on having an environment that is clean and accessible to basic hygiene supplies like tissue, wipes and markers to improve their learning abilities.
They will be using the pencils during writing, math, and reading during stop and jots reflections.
Imagine its flu season and we lack basic supplies like tissue and disinfecting wipes to keep germs at bay? Help us keep learning the central priority for our curious learners!
