This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am so lucky to be teaching some of the most loving and energetic group of Kindergartners. They are always eager to give hugs and excited about learning new things.
To match my scholar's excitement for learning and unique learning needs, I have adapted my classroom to give students the freedom of choice.
Not all of my students have to sit in the hard blue chairs provided by the school, but they can choose a wobble stool, bucket seats, tire seats or even a comfy pillow on the floor.
Another choice they have is using their iPads to enhance their learning. My students, like most Kindergartners are visual and audible learners. My scholars love listening to stories on their iPads and doing other fun activities on their devices.
My Project
Nearly all of the activities in my classroom are hands-on. While that's amazing for helping my little Kindergartners master their learning, it makes it easy to spread germs!
This project is designed to make my classroom more healthy.
I'm requesting more Clorox wipes to help us keep all of the things we enjoy using in the classroom safe for our health! I'm also requesting water bottles so that each of my students can stay hydrated during these dry, winter months. Currently, when students want water they have to leave the classroom. I'd love for each of them to have water they can easily drink while staying focused on their learning.
My scholars also use headphones daily in the classroom and I'm requesting new ones to replace the unsanitary earbuds some have been using.
