A Healthier Learning Environment

My Project

The goal of this project is to improve the physical learning environment in my classroom. Our classroom, like most classrooms, is located within a large commercial building with forced air and dirty air ducts. Also, third graders are not consistent with covering their coughs and sneezes. As a result, my students and myself struggle with colds and allergy related symptoms throughout the year.

The implementation of an air purifier would greatly improve the air quality in my classroom and reduce the spread of allergens and germs.

The goal of soft-light lamps is to improve the working environment, specifically for students who struggle with dyslexia and other vision related issues, by reducing the glare coming from overhead fluorescent lights. The ability to turn off some of the overhead lights and supplement the room with floor lamps would be a wonderful improvement to the classroom.
