A Hatchet Adventure

Help me give my students an end-of-the-year project to remember, inspired by the novel Hatchet.

My Project

I love how curious, creative, and resilient my students are. They approach challenges with enthusiasm and a genuine desire to learn. They thrive in hands-on, immersive activities that allow them to connect with the material in meaningful ways. The resources in this project are designed to bring the themes of Hatchet to life, giving students the chance to experience survival and nature in a tangible, engaging way.

The tents will create an immersive environment, allowing students to step into Brian's world while reading the novel Hatchet.

Sling shots, axe-throwing games, and binoculars will help students connect with the wildlife and trials that Brian encounters, encouraging exploration and observation.

My goal for this project is to foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. I want students to connect with the story on a deeper level, using the resources to explore themes of resilience, survival, and the natural world.

What makes my students special is their eagerness to learn and their ability to approach challenges with persistence and curiosity. They are motivated to think critically, collaborate with peers, and engage deeply with new ideas. This project will help them further develop these skills while providing an exciting, interactive experience that strengthens their connection to Hatchet and the themes of survival and nature.
