My Project

Decodable texts that are Science of Reading aligned, articles about animals, information about important people and events, real-world practice of our literacy skills - these subscriptions to Time for Kids, Science Spin, and Scholastic News will provide content that reflects diverse experiences, identities, and abilities. My goal is to encourage my students to broaden their knowledge of the world and to think outside of their community.

A global perspective will help to push my students' understanding of the world to a whole new level while also practicing our first grade skills with these engaging magazines.

Having these print and digital resources will help me to reach my students in a variety of methods. My students will be able to read and respond to the magazines during our literacy centers. When done, they will be able to either re-read the magazines throughout the year or bring them home to share with their parents.
