I would like to receive more guided reading books so that my students can become stronger and independent readers. With these guided reading books, I will have the opportunity to help them improve their reading strategies and skills during small group instruction. During this time, I work with a group of five students with the same book. I read a page to them, they read it back to me, and then we read the page together.
These guided reading books will also allow my students to get in small groups with their classmates and read to each other and discuss what the book is about during reading center time.
If we were to receive these books, my students would become more excited about reading and they would be able to have the opportunity to become successful readers.
