This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My seventh and eighth graders are beginning 2024 with self-selected books for literature circles. They will read independently throughout the week, and then come together on Friday for a Socratic Seminar discussing that week’s reading in front of the class. (It sounds scarier than it is!) The books I’ve selected in this order are from several authors that will continue to add diversity of voice and experience to our classroom library. I’ve also asked for help with snacks, pencils (which disappear with all of the lost socks), and a fun “English” related game to play on Reward Days. Thank you for your support!
