This project will provide twelve muscadine grape vines for an arbor that our school hopes to create in the outdoor classroom spaces of our Horticultural program. In redesigning this space, students have moved the chicken coop to a different part of the campus. This project hopes to beautify as well as utilize and learn from the space that the previous coop vacated. This is a great environmental lesson! What better place to grow a grapevine than in soil that is already fertilized?
Students will plant the vines along an arbor-like creation that the horticulture students will construct.
I have requested established muscadine vines from a local nursery and grower to ensure better success and to support a local community business. I am excited to offer this opportunity to my students. Won't you help us with this unique project?
