This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our aim is to enhance the learning experience for our students and create an environment that fosters academic growth. We are seeking 40 copies of "Open Veins of Latin America: Five Centuries of the Pillage of a Continent" by Eduardo Galeano to supplement our curriculum.

The requested books play a crucial role in providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the historical context and socio-economic factors that have shaped Latin America over the past five centuries.

By having access to these materials, our students will be equipped with a deeper knowledge of the region's history, allowing for more engaging discussions and critical analysis. The books will serve as valuable resources for research projects, further enriching the educational experience.

Additionally, we are requesting a classroom shelf organizer to help students keep their work organized and easily accessible. A well-organized learning environment contributes to a more efficient and focused study atmosphere, enabling students to manage their assignments and resources effectively. Moreover, we are seeking a new office chair for our CC teachers and student aides.

Our students at CSHS are truly special. They come from diverse backgrounds, bringing unique perspectives and experiences to the classroom. Despite facing various challenges, our students exhibit resilience, curiosity, and a genuine enthusiasm for learning. It is our belief that providing them with the requested resources will further empower them to succeed academically and instill a lifelong love for learning.
