My Project

I recently came across a unique literacy project called "The Global Read Aloud" project. Created by a teacher, a book list is created annually with the mission of connecting people around the globe through literacy.

I am so excited to provide the selected titles for The Global Read Aloud for my students of all reading abilities.

A class set of "Thirst" will be for every student, while the picture book collection will be a weekly read aloud. "Stuntboy, In the Meantime," will be an option for students wishing to participate, but not really able to keep up with the more difficult text.

Connecting globally will be an exciting part of this project. All participants around the world read the books at the same time, following the same schedule. We are then given opportunities to connect with one another and discuss the books! I am beyond excited to connect cultures through literacy and offer authentic experiences to my students beyond the walls of our school.
