Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am an ENL/special education teacher working with students who face many challenges; language barriers, multiple disabilities, and limited ways to communicate. Many of my students are English language learners and some are just beginning to understand or speak. Others are still learning to recognize and write their own names.
An iPad, along with a protective case and headphones, would be more than just a classroom tool; it would be a lifeline.
With the right apps, my students can learn through music, sounds, and touch. They can explore letters, practice writing their names, and begin forming words all in a way that’s fun, engaging, and accessible to their needs.
I’m asking for this gift not just as a teacher, but as someone who believes that every child deserves the chance to be heard, to express themselves, and to feel the pride of learning their own name. This iPad will open doors to communication, independence, and confidence.
Please help me give my students a voice, a way to connect, and the joy of learning one name, one word, one step at a time.
