My school believes that all children are learners. They learn at different paces and in different ways, so instructional practices will reflect this. Since we believe that children learn best in a positive environment, the instructional setting features structured classrooms that are safe places for children to express themselves, show respect, and be respected.
When students leave their grade level each year, they will successfully have taken full advantage of all learning opportunities: prior knowledge, growing emotional and intellectual development, school and home cooperation, and sound instruction in required standards.
Every Wednesday, my students and I implement “Wipe-Down Wednesday”—we spend the last 5 minutes of our school day cleaning our classroom. By doing so, I know that we’re creating a healthier germ-free environment. The wipes that we’re requesting will be sufficient to ensure that we continue to implement a healthy environment, as we wipe down any germs that are in our way! The manual vacuum will also help with collecting any dust.
School absenteeism due to illness is very common in the elementary grade levels.
In the United States, there are approximately 164 million lost school days each year among students in kindergarten to grade 12 which averages out to 4.5 sick days per student per year. In fact, some studies have shown that kindergarteners on average have 12 colds a year, while older kids develop about seven. Will you help us to promote a healthy learning environment?
