Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students, who live in an urban area with limited access to fresh produce, are delving into food, plant, and pollinator studies as part of their STEM and health curriculum.

To enhance their understanding of how plants grow and serve as food sources, I plan to introduce a hydroponic system and seeds.

This hands-on experience will allow them to observe the plant life cycle and promote lessons on making healthy food choices. Ultimately, I aim to cultivate enthusiasm, inspiring the children to explore fresh produce through our garden and perhaps motivate them to start their own home gardens.
