This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a preschool teacher serving children from ages 2 to 5 years primary from working families. Our school was built with little to no green space for students to explore and learn about the nature. My students are hands-on learning and when studies like Trees, insects and so on come along we are limited to an area with mainly concrete.

I want to start creating a Garden and improve it with time.

I will not only provide a space for students to learn about the plant cycle, the bugs and how planting helps our nutrition and our wellbeing.

Additionally, A Garden is a great add on tool for students that need time for breaks. Meaning, if students are having a hard time they can take a walk and go water the flower or vegetables.

The primary materials I need to fund my project are soil and planters. I will be working and looking for more donations to get seeds and plants.

No donation is too small to start a change and our preschoolers will be so grateful for the help.
