My Project
My name is Tanya Harrison and I work at an Alternative Learning Program. We serve approximately 130 students in grades 7-12. Most of the students and families that we work with come from impoverished backgrounds. These families struggle all year long, but as you can imagine, it hits harder when there is a lack of food.
Many of our students feel self-conscious when they come to school due to inadequate clothing and hygiene products.
Additionally, many come to school hungry or tired due to insufficient food and housing.
