As the school nurse, I see firsthand how much our students want to feel confident, comfortable, and included each day. Many of them come from low-income households, and for some, even basic clothing items can be hard to come by. When a student has an accident or a spill during the school day, it can be embarrassing, uncomfortable, and disruptive to their learning.
Our students range from Kindergarten through 5th grade and come to school each day with a desire to learn and grow.
My goal is to support them not just medically, but emotionally and socially as well.
I am requesting underwear, socks, and pants in a variety of sizes to keep in the health office for students who have accidents, spills, or unexpected clothing emergencies during the school day.
These simple items make a huge difference. A clean, dry change of clothes allows students to return to class quickly, with dignity and confidence. Without these supplies, students may have to miss valuable class time, wait for a family member to bring clothes, or spend the rest of the day feeling uncomfortable or embarrassed.
Your support will help me create a safe, respectful, and caring environment where every child can focus on learning—no matter what the day throws at them.
