Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our STEAM club meets after school to design robots and gadgets. We also like incorporating Arts into STEM. Students enjoy playing music as well as working on engineering projects. Students come in and plan various activities to help them have hands-on experience with science and technology. Music is a great way for students to incorporate arts into science. Some of my students play guitar, ukulele, piano, and violin. They enjoy using coding to program new music. It's important to have available instruments for students.
My Project
Part of the STEAM Club is to include artistic adventures for my students. Students will showcase their STEM projects as well as their artistic experiences to parents. We would like to showcase this to parents so they see all the creativity from their parents. Students have been designing robots. Some robots play music. One student even programmed Rick Astley's song--the robot has been rick rolled. We want to encourage creativity by having musical instruments available for students to incorporate in the show. A day will be dedicated as STEAM members will show off their creations. The violin, case, bow, cloth, and rosin will be used by students who are part of our orchestra to use as they perform a song. Song books are available to learn the current musical hits.
