Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a Title I school where the staff is passionate about accommodating students as best as they possibly can. My classroom is full of students who are crippled by situations at home that makes it more difficult to stay focused in school. These students continue to show up every day an give it there all. I am proud to say that they have taught me more about resilience than I ever could have taught them. No matter what knocks them down, they get right back up and keep going!

In our classroom, we are readers, scientists, and historians.

We are dedicated to our learning. We have goals set in place as individual learners and as a classroom community.

My Project

The materials on this list will enhance student learning while in small groups and independent work.

Students will use these materials to encourage movement, focus, and individual student needs in the classroom.

Students will utilize the Active Learning Stools while receiving direct instruction in small groups. These stools will activate their core strength while allowing them to "wobble" as they complete their task and receive instruction. These stools will help keep my most active students focused on their learning.

Students will utilize the Metal Stools while in small group as well. These stools will directly serve students receiving ESL or Specially Designed Instruction. They will also be used as a place for students to complete independent tasks or group work.

The Painters Tape will be used to create pathways on the floor to incorporate movement in the classroom. Whether it is to practice sight words or just get a little brain break in, students will use these pathways to enhance their learning and energy in our classroom!
