Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My public Montessori classroom is need of durable hands-on learning materials. I have requested items for the academic areas of language arts, math, community area, and the practical life area. The people figures from playmobil will be used for language arts moveable alphabet spelling opportunities. For math, my students really need objects to count, so I chosen multiple different slime charms to count. These types of charms really make learning fun. The community block area is in need of a schoolhouse and teacher. Children can build vocabulary and social skills with these wooden materials. Our practical life area is missing multiple things for building. The materials for building were chosen to encourage creative thinking.

When we simply remember our (student's) favorite things, then learning won't be so bad.

I strive to make our classroom a place where learning is exciting and motivating. The more the kids are attracted to the work, the easier it is to teach them. The easier it is to teach, the more they will learn.
