This is my second year at a PK3-8 Elementary! I have PK3-8th graders! They are amazing, well-rounded, loving kids. Most of which however do not get much exercise outside of school.
Unfortunately, our school does not have the funds necessary for Adapted Physical Education equipment.
In fact, the list of available equipment is extremely short, regardless. I have hope to start an adapted PE class where they can feel comfortable learning the skills they need for a fun, full life! I am hoping to start a program where kids will learn body awareness skills, as well as skills they can take throughout life-increasing their quality of life as they age.
My Project
Anytime you add a new ball, new item the kids have not worked with, they get excited!
I can not wait for them to play new games with the sensory balls as well as the dance streamers!
The character book will be added while utilizing the balls. The kids enjoy Llama Llama, so why not add it in to PE as well?! Sharing is a huge part of PE!
The youth basketball will be utilized for the PK-2nd grades to have a "mini-season", where they will learn the rules and skills of basketball. They are so excited to play games "like the big kids"!
