I teach first grade in a low-income school. We do as many hands-on projects as possible.
Most of our students do not have crayons at home or any other supplies that one might expect first grade students to have in order to do homework or to simply entertain themselves. Often, I send home pencil boxes with their school supplies. This, of course, leads to us going through supplies very quickly!
Our electric pencil sharpener has finally given out and we need sharp pencils! We are constantly using glue sticks to do creative projects to enhance our lessons and our fine motor skills. Our crayons are becoming very tiny and we are desperately in need of a new batch!
Your help will allow us to continue doing beautiful projects that will hopefully contribute to our students' love of learning.
