This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have a phenomenal and motivated group of fourth grade scholars. Many have IEPs (Individualized Education Plans), some are students new to our country who are learning English for the first time, some are scholars with various learning styles, and they are readers and mathematicians at various grade levels. Regardless, they all work extremely hard every day and love our paper circuit engineering and cardboard construction projects. They love making geometrical models, Makey Makey STEM kit coding integrated with art, just to name a few of the maker ed and computer science projects we'll be working on this year. The resources requested here will help them continue making/constructing/coding, while learning about Chinese culture and the Lunar New Year.

My student teams will use the cardstock and modeling clay to create 3D models of Chinese temples/structures.

Furthermore, the snacks and hot cocoa will allow us to have a fantastic Lunar New Year celebration, as well as reading Magic Tree House books set in ancient China. My students will also enjoy the red envelopes and lucky money! And last but not least, the iPad case will make it easier for my students to type their book summaries/reports.
