Help me give my students a place to dry their artwork! My classroom has been recently converted to an art room, so this is an essential and much-appreciated addition to the new room!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is home to 3,300 students, with a large population of immigrant English language learners. In my classroom alone, I have students who speak Spanish, Arabic, Italian, Igbo, Ukranian, Turkish, Polish, Albanian, Macedonian, and ASL. I teach Studio Art 1, which is a beginner-level art class. For many students, this is their first art experience and first exposure to the world of creating!
My Project
My students are in need of a drying rack! The classroom I am currently teaching in has been recently converted into an art room, and can still use some essential art pieces. The most important of all is a drying rack! Students need a location to place their wet artwork at the end of the class so that it is out of the way for the next group. This also prevents their artwork from potentially being ruined, as it spaces each paper evenly so they do not overlap. Currently, I am graciously borrowing one from another art room, but they will eventually need it back!
