Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every year I do all that I can to create a classroom aesthetic that transports students OUT of the school and into a "wonderland". This year, I would like to combine my passion for reading and writing with the inspiration that made me fall in love with all things magical- gothic literature. Even though the macabre isn't for everyone, the idea of feeling like you're in your own world makes children and teens feel safe, entertained, and enforces that their teacher WANTS to be in that room with them. My goals for this project are to make this my best classroom theme ever so that wherever I may be in the fall (teaching 7th grade, 9th grade, or beyond!), my students see that my heart and soul go into what I do so that they learn to love reading and writing as a form of expression and a way to connect with others through all different cultures and universes.
Not only is this project filled with decor but also necessary supplies that I have seen my students need year after year that will foster engagement and active learning.
Never will a student go without a pencil or folder when they have me by their side! They deserve to come into a room and know they have all the tools they need to succeed...and the biggest cheerleader rooting them on.
