My Project

At GMS we try our best to support those who support us.

Last year, more than 20,000 pounds of food was distributed to GMS families through our school food pantry.

Our food pantry is sustained 100% by the Food Bank of Iowa.

Our G-Core student leadership team has made it a mission this spring to support the Food Bank of Iowa by hosting a food drive with an emphasis on securing boxed cereals.

The goal is to secure THOUSANDS of cereal boxes and to create a domino line effect the day of the donation to the Food Bank of Iowa. Our students would like to line these boxes of cereal up across the school and watch them all tumble with the last box ending at the Food Bank of Iowa truck!

This is not only a way for our student leaders to “give back” to the our community but it is also a wonderful way for them to learn about leveraging community support for positive impact!

The Food Bank of Iowa is committed to continue serving the students of GMS.
