Our school is a place where all kids are honored for the unique abilities and talents they bring. We teach in an inclusive setting that provides opportunities for ALL students to learn together to their fullest potential. The students in our classrooms have a wide variety of needs, academic and social skills- including children who develop typically, children with special needs and children who are gifted- we all learn side by side.
Imagine a world where all children are equally valued, a world where all children are seen as a gift.
We have two classes of absolutely amazing transitional kindergarteners that learn together through collaboration in a dynamic and nurturing environment.
My Project
Our students deserve a classroom library that is as diverse as they are. Some of our students use alternate communication tools, some of our students come from families from around the world, some of our students display gender in different ways, some of our students feel big emotions on a daily basis, and some of our students come from different family units. ALL of our students deserve to see themselves in our classroom library books and ALL of our students would benefit from learning more about diversity through classroom read alouds. We look forward to using these books to start important conversations with our students that teach them about the beautiful and diverse world around them.
