My students love hands-on activities like this! This project will help students learn about their reproductive system and factors that can affect a developing baby.
Having fun while learning helps students remember the concepts.
With the Science Take-Out Life Support for a Developing Baby kit, students will create a model placenta and investigate whether alcohol and viruses can move from a mother's blood to her developing baby. They will explore the effects of prenatal exposure to hazardous substances and pathogens that can cause birth defects. These kits are easy to set up, require no specialized lab equipment, and will provide my students with a hands-on learning experience that they will remember. My students asked for more clues to solve for their breakout boxes/escape room activities, so the locks will be used for those. The book bins will help to keep materials organized.
